A Year of Engagements

This past weekend, Christina, Leslie and I got together for their last engagement session. They booked me 2 years ago and since then, we’ve gotten to know each other pretty well and have become really good friends. So good that they asked my son, Ethan, to be the ring boy. What an honor ! Unfortunately, we had to squash that idea because asking Jeanette to watch the two little boys at the reception was too big of a task to tackle on her own. But it was a smart idea. Ethan walking down the aisle would have been a sure thing ! After all, daddy would be there waiting to give him a big hug and kiss:)

When we got together for their consultation, they told me that they wanted something different with their engagement session. They wanted to have a session every season, which was a really cool idea, I thought. We did have some time to kill before the wedding, so it worked out really nice. These two are pros in front of the camera now ! … or at least they should be !

As some of you remember, this past weekend was FREEEEEZING !!! I’m talking probably -40 or so with the wind chill ! At least it felt that way to me. I swear my fingers were going to fall off !!! Here’s an interesting chart in case you wonder how fast frostbite kicks in:

Never again will I photography in temperatures below the freezing mark. I could not feel a thing. But, whatever the bride wants, she gets !

Anyways, here are some of my faves from each season:

Joee, Joee, Joee,

Christina and Leslie’s pictures just got better and better with each season. The winter shots with the white snowflakes on Christina’s dark hair is A+ material. They were definitely worth it even at the expense of your frozen fingers. Your eye for scenic backgrounds is really something. You have me thinking about hiring you to do my husband and I as we never got our engagement pictures done.
Very good work.
By the way addressing me as the Fabulous Karen Chen-Richardson for makeup and hair was definitely a nice touch. THANK YOU JOEE! Thank you for all the referrals too. You are an angel!
