Engagement Session: Catherine + Don

Today, I got to see Catherine and Don again…and it was FUN !  Their wedding is in 2 weeks !!! Count ‘em…1…2 !  Funny thing, she ran into me in Yorkville last week when I was photographing Victoria and Dave’s e-session, so it was actually nice to be able to catch up with them today.

It was only a few months ago that we met for coffee at Starbucks.  Before the meeting, we did talk about what kind of coverage they wanted for their wedding day.  Originally, I was out of their budget but we met anyways.   It was obvious we were a great fit for each other.  They are just super cool and just so chill… And a couple days later, they booked me:)  It happens all the time:)  It’s the JW charm…I’d like to think, anyways:)

We headed over to Main St., Unionville for an ultra relaxed session.  I couldn’t believe how many people I ran into during our session.  Kara and Family, Kevin and his lovely wife, Andrea, and the one and only, Claudia:)  We walked past Claudia and I said, “Hey !”.  I thought it was hilarious because she didn’t recognize me behind my week-old beard and kept walking on…I think she told her couples that I was a stalker or something haha Anyways, you’ll see more of her later.  She’s going to be helping me out with an awesome wedding this August.  Looking forward to that !

Anyways, back to the goods…Catherine+Don.  It was nearly impossible to get a serious photo of these two.  They are so goofy sometimes…well, all the time, but I love it ! They had no issues being themselves in front of my camera and we got some real nice photos — photos that represent who they are, as their friends see them.  Apparently, Don was the more nervous of the two.  They arrived in Unionville a few hours earlier to grab a quick bite to eat.  Don had an adult beverage (or two) to calm his nerves.  It’s all good…as long as he doesn’t turn red on me !

Here are some of my faves from today:

They gave me a sneak peak to their first dance. It was awesome !  They’ve been working really hard at it and I can’t wait to see it along with ALL their guests..no pressure guys.

Anyone know what kind of animal this is ? Duck, goose, swan ? We were just mystified when we saw this thing walking by…

It was a great day.  We beat the rain and had some awesome lighting.

Can’t wait to show the world some images from their wedding at Miller Lash House !

Stay tuned.

Oh, and Don never turns red. Neither do I, actually. We’re one of those blessed Asians that can drink and hide our drunkenness pretty well….that is until one of us falls off a stool! LOL!

Hey Joe!

I bet you’ll never believe me, but … your mystery bird is actually a … turkey! Yup, gobble, gobble — the big bird you eat during Thanksgiving :p They’re quite unattractive birds – but Main Street Unionville seems to have at least two of them waddling around all the time (the other one is an even uglier blue-coloured bird with a red face).

Good shoot! Love the negative space and framing with the white fence(?)!

Claud is probably the only photographer I have ever met who’s 70-200 stays in her bag all day long — weirdo!

hahah I saw you setting up on the bridge as I was driving away :) Nice shots! 70-200 eh? I can’t do it!!
