A while back, I had the opportunity to photograph one of my favorite families again – Marina and Owen’s family. The first time was with their first daughter, Malia. And now, two years later, they welcomed their second daughter, Mirai, into the world. And for the second time, the girls’ aunt and uncle, Amanda and Rene, surprised them with a session with me. Amanda and Rene were one of my amazing couples back in 2007.
I photographed Malia when she was around 5 months old. So, we had Mirai’s session around that time also. When I arrived, I thought it as like deja vu ! Mirai was a total mini-Malia ! The resemblance was uncanny. She was a wonderful baby to photograph, just like her older sister.

Here’s a photo of Malia all grown up. She goes to school now and was showing me her favorite backpack and hat. She was such a good girl during the session.
Recently, we had them over for a play-date…a Pizza play-date, where Ethan and Malia made pizza’s for us. That was fun ! It’s been over two years since we introduced Ethan and Malia. Call us crazy, but Marina and I think they’d make a cute couple, when they are old enough to date…so, you know, when they are in their twenties haha Anyways, it was a blast seeing them interact with each other at this fun age of 2.
We’ll see them next at Ethan’s birthday party next month, hopefully. We asked Ethan who he wanted to come and Malia was in the top 3 of his favorite girls haha I received an email from Marina last week and apparently Malia wanted to call Ethan during the holidays. Awwww….
