A few weeks ago, I had the pleasure to spend the afternoon in Lawrence Park with baby Owen and family. This session has been in the works since he was 3 months old. He’s 9 months old now and he’s definitely a mover !
Owen’s mommy and daddy, Lisa and Jason, are good friends with one of my earliest wedding couples, Amanda and John, who are possibly my biggest fans ! Not only did I photograph their wedding 4 years ago, I have also photographed both their kids and have had many a playdate with them and have become great friends. Their house is like an homage to JW. We jokingly call it The JW Gallery. My images are everywhere ! And practically everyone who steps into their house has asked me to photograph their families. And here we are.
I went into the session thinking that Lisa and Jason were just one of Amanda and John’s random friends. Owen’s daddy, Jason, was actually one of John’s groomsman. So, when I walked into their house, I totally recognized him ! It was great catching up and now meeting their little one.
I arrived a little early, like I normally do, to scout the house a little bit and look for some good lighting. When I got there, Owen was sleeping…sort of. Actually, I think me ringing the doorbell woke him. Lisa brought me upstairs and I see this big boy laying in his crib staring at me with his beautiful eyes ! Definitely has his mom’s eyes. It didn’t take too long for him to warm up for me. Awesome ! Not sure if it was my daddy instincts or what, but we had an awesome cry-free session !
Here’s a peak into Owen’s session. Jason actually had one of his old baby shirts still and Owen put it on for a few photos. I think that is so awesome ! That’s what I call vintage clothing ! I thought I’d stay with a more vintage theme with these edits:

And of course my signature photo which I, remarkably, nailed within 2 minutes ! This is usually my toughest photo:

Owen, you’re a star in the making, kiddo ! Thanks for sharing your day with me and being a good boy ! Mommy and Daddy are very blessed to have you in their lives. Next time I see you, you’ll be destroying your parents’ beautiful house, I’m sure ! Looking forward to the next session !
