This could possibly be the biggest double header of my 2009 season: Sharon+Harpreet’s Sikh and Christian wedding celebrations. For Sharon, the Sikh ceremony was totally new to her and her family as they are Christian. It was great to see both families embrace each others faith and allow their children to marry.
The Sikh wedding started off with a lot of rain….A LOT OF RAIN ! I had my good friend and colleague Joe Montesano from Nuvo Photography cover that wedding that day as I was covering P+E’s wedding for the rest of the day, but I did join him for a few hours knowing it was going to rain. Here are some photos of the morning Baraat where Joe and I got drenched along with everyone else.
Luckily, we had umbrellas to give us a little coverage and a big thanks to some of the kids from Harpreet’s family who helped out by holding the umbrella’s and shadowing us while we did our thing. This is what a wedding is about ! A lot of people would let the rain ruin their day…not Sharon and Harpreet’s families, though. It was awesome ! I’ll have to admit, I was a little concerned about my equipment, but it was worth it. My camera equipment is replaceable…but moments are priceless.

On Sunday, we had the Christian ceremony and the reception. Again, the day started off with some rain and I swear the Lord parted the clouds and gave us tons of sunshine once they said their I Do’s
Here is a peak at their day:

I have to take a moment to give props to Sharon’s M.O.H. above. Her due date was on Sunday and she made it through the day and lived up to the M.O.H. role and responsibilities that come with that title. She’s a total trooper ! I even saw her dancing up a storm later on at night ! Yup ! She’s going to pop any day now and I just want to wish her a healthy and speedy delivery.
Here’s Benji all decked out in his spiffy tux:

Time to get married !

On to the reception for about 700 guests. Check out the decor ! Love the pin spot lighting !

Even Brett Favre made a quick appearance…

Can’t have an Indian reception without some good Bhangra dancing !

Sharon launched her bouquet before I even had a chance to prep her…and down came the bouquet and a bunch of crystals from the huge chandelier !

I had a blast guys ! Can we do this again ?
Anyways, I spent a lot of time with the families and friends of Sharon and Harpreet this weekend. They are a fantastic group of caring and selfless individuals. Not one person there made us feel like vendors. We were one big happy family.
I also wanted to give a big thanks to their wedding planner. This would not have been possible without the amazing planning and coordinating of Pam Litt of Ntrinzik Consulting & Coordination. She had an amazing vision for this wedding and executed it flawlessly. She was always in contact with me and kept me in the loop every step of the way. When it came down to the wedding day, it was pretty much no holds barred. No shot lists or anything like that. She gave us 100% complete creative control and this has been one of the best weddings we have documented. The rest of the images are just unreal ! She is definitely one of the best, if not the best, planners I have ever worked with and I highly recommend her.
