On Friday, Dee+Uly tied the knot. 8/8/8 is probably the luckiest day of the year. Half way around the world, over 30,000 fireworks were set off to mark their special day…
The number eight is believed to bring happiness and fortune in Chinese culture. Funny enough, they aren’t even Chinese… maybe they chose the date because it was just easier to remember
I’m kidding…it was definitely a memorable day to celebrate, nonetheless.
I have to admit, this was one of the most anticipated weddings for me because I photographed Dee’s sister’s wedding last year and I got a chance to see everyone again. It was kinda like deja vu arriving at the same house her sister got ready…same make-up artist, same wedding planner, and seeing her mom and her sweet 94 year old grandmother again. It was like I just saw them yesterday.
Dee+Uly are a true example of opposite’s attract. Uly is a total joker and Dee is the more serious one. I first met Uly a few years back as a groomsman at one of his best friends weddings. Those boys are really tight and have been groomsmen for each others’ weddings and I got to see them all again, so that was nice. They haven’t changed a bit. Those kids know how to party ! I met Dee last year at Ella’s, her sister, wedding and I just thought she was a total sweetheart. One of my fondest memories of her was her emotional speech as Ella’s MOH. There was not a dry eye in that reception last year. This girl really knows how to speak from the heart. She didn’t disappoint at her own wedding with another touching speech.
Here are some teasers from their wedding:
The most blinged out wedding shoes I’ve seen !

Check out the kicks ! Black with white stripes for the groomsmen…white with black stripes for the groom.

I had an amazing time, as usual. I’m looking forward to their next family wedding ! I think all the family members who are reading, know who I’m talking about![]()
Vendor notes: The reception was held at the Paramount Event Center. The coordination of the day was executed by the lovely Leena and her girls from Let’s Party Consultants. I can’t stress how important and valuable it is to have a wedding planner/coordinator. She is absolutely amazing and I highly recommend her ! Make-up was done by the gorgeous Vanessa Funtera who I’ve worked with a gazillion times and always gives me what I want for my brides. She had a pretty crazy schedule that day too and packed her stuff to catch her flight to Virginia to meet me there for Saturday’s wedding.
