Every year, I plan to end off my season with a fantastic wedding…and boy did we ever ! Last year, I finished off in FIJI and Jamaica. Next year, we’re going to end it with a big party in Greece. And this year, I ended my season with a swanky party for Marie and Patrick at one of my favorite spots, Canoe.
Marie and Patrick found me through one of Jeanette’s high school friend, Katrina, who is good friends with Patrick. Katrina is a really cool chick, so when Patrick contacted me, I knew he’d be someone I’d click with. This is why word of mouth works so well for me. I get referrals from awesome people with awesome friends. Then we get a wedding full of awesomeness ! Marie is a total sweetheart. She actually went to the same high school as my younger cousin, Sabrina, and also one of my old colleagues, May. Small world ! I got the scoop from Sabrina and she gave me the thumbs up on Marie
So, I knew I wasn’t going to turn away this couple. As all my couples know, it’s all about a good fit for each other.
Let’s talk about the first time we met. Everyone always talks about first impressions. It was a cold February evening around Chinese New Year. These two just finished working out and when we grabbed a coffee nearby, they seemed a little exhausted and hungry…and most notably, sweaty ! (kidding). We had a nice chat about their wedding and what they are looking for. It was a good time and I was really looking forward to getting to know them better….and here we are…
Marie looked absolutely stunning. I couldn’t peel my eyes off her..that’s a good sign
Doesn’t she look like a younger Eva Langoria ? Gorgeous !

I love this photo below…some might say that it is blurry and out of focus and not ‘usable’. Well, there’s a saying, “There’s no such thing as a perfect photo….just a perfect moment.” As Marie was walking down the isle with her parents, I heard Patrick sniffling and trying to hold back his tears behind me. It was a beautiful moment. Tears of Joy![]()

I almost didn’t recognize Patrick without his gotee. He really cleaned up well and is sharply dressed, as usual. Looking good dude !

It was an awesome day ! 100% chance of rain, but the skies cleared up just in time for our relaxed portraits and we had amazing lighting ! We headed downtown and hit Union Station, BCE Place, The Esplanade, old City Hall and Osgoode Hall in a very short period of time. How’s that for relaxed ! haha Running in and out of the limo for some quick photos here and there was insane…but we got some insanely beautiful photos. Patrick calls it “Guerrilla Photography”. Warning: There’s lots of making out…just the way I like it![]()

Ya, they are cute aren’t they !

I had to squeeze this in before we left, of course: Eugene, Marie, Patrick, Me

I have to give a shout out to Joanne from Canoe, who took really good care of us. She was working her tail off to make sure the evening went smoothly. The staff was great and the food…just deeeeelish ! Looking forward to going back there next year for MyLinh and Adnan’s wedding in July![]()
It was so much fun ! And like our first meeting, this day ended with everyone little exhausted and (some) hungry…and most notably, sweaty !
Marie and Patrick are off to their 1 month honeymoon. Must be nice, huh ? He’s just picked up a new Canon dSLR to document his once (or twice) in a lifetime journey all over Asia. I’m looking forward to seeing what they can do with it !
To Marie and Patrick: Thank you for trusting me with photographing your wedding. You two are so meant for each other and I firmly believe that I was meant to be your photographer (and now friend). Looking forward to photographing the two of you again in the future…
