Destination: Fiesole, Italy – May, 2010

Generally, I get booked about 6-8 months prior to the date for a Destination Wedding (DW) since planning for a DW is pretty straight forward.  Carmen and Elton booked me over a year in advance.  Elton is quite the budding photographer himself and them booking me 14 months in advance tells me that photography is of utmost importance to them.  This is the typical profile of my Bride and Groom – they put a high priority in selecting their photographer.

Elton and Carmen are a really cool and fun couple.  We joke about how Carmen is the really relaxed one when it comes to the planning. And Elton…the ‘Groom-zilla’ haha  But he totally isn’t.  There’s nothing wrong with knowing what you want and being specific about details:)  Their wedding is going to be absoulute stunning and in the end, Elton will be basking in the glory of all his hard planning:)

I often get emails from other photographers on how to get booked to photograph amazing weddings in beautiful destinations.  I’ll share Camen and Elton’s email to me shortly after our initial consultation:

How’s that for an answer:)  It is more than just a great portfolio.

The wedding and reception will be held at the ultra luxurious Villa San Michele – the Michelangelo designed 15th-century Franciscan monastery on Fiesole Hill above Florence.  How luxurious is it ?  Well, one nights stay in it’s basic accomodations runs around $775 USD ! Sweet Jesus !  Their second reception will take place in Toronto with those who could not attend the celebration in Florence.

Thanks to Carmen and Elton for the awesome birthday present:)  We have over a year to freshen up on our Italian:)

Ciao !
