Yea Mon ! Vanessa and Jason tied the knot on July 1, 2009 in a beautiful and intimate ceremony held here in Negril, Jamaica !!! About 75+ of their closest friends and family flew in for this special occasion and witnessed the union during a beautiful sunset ceremony at Negril Escape Resort.
It was a windy one and the clouds were rolling in on this cliffside ceremony overlooking the ocean. But the grace of God left us with a dry evening and the rain danced around this part of town.
I flew down earlier this week with Jeanette and the kids along with most of the clan from Toronto. The family and friends from Toronto pretty much occupied the entire WestJet plane. It was packed and I could see the excitement in everyone’s faces to come down south for this destination wedding. It was my first time flying WestJet and they are, no doubt, the best Canadian airline I’ve been on ! Hilarious and courteous staff. Super kid friendly. I love it !
Vanessa, as some of you know, is one of my favorite Make-Up Artists. She’s amazing and I was stoked to have her ask me to document her wedding to Jason. I didn’t meet Jason until this week. Wow, I could not picture a more perfect match for Vanessa. He’s super laid back and just an awesome guy.
The wedding took place on Wednesday, so I had a few days to scout and check out what I was working with. It was brutally hot this week ! A little too hot for my liking, but we had amazing weather on the wedding day.
I was flying solo on this wedding which meant that I had to cover both the guy’s and girl’s preparations. Oh man, I miss having my second photographers LOL As I predicted in one of my previous posts, this was the first wedding I’ve photographed where the Bride did her own make-up ! And also some of the bridesmaids. Vanessa’s good friend, Michelle, an amazing Make-Up Artist too, helped out with some of the girls and did the finishing touches on Vanessa.

The guys left about an hour earlier than the girls, so I took a quick snap before the ceremony since I didn’t see them much in the morning. They were looking sharp ! Especially Mr. Groom there. His man, Kevin, did an awesome job with the clippers that afternoon. Jason cleaned up real good

Congratulations to Vanessa and Jason !!! Thank you for inviting my entire family here to celebrate with your family and friends. It was just a beautiful celebration and to be asked to document your wedding was a dreamA BIG thank you goes out to all the families and friends that helped Jeanette out with the kids while I was doing wedding related things last week. We really, really appreciate it.
On a side note, there was lots more to celebrate this week, other than the wedding. A couple of birthdays of the aunts, some special baby news from Jennifer+Roger, and Jeanette and I also celebrated our 5-year wedding anniversary ! What an awesome week ! But I’m looking forward to coming home. I’m just getting killed with insect bites now as I blog this. It doesn’t help that the WIFI is so choppy here and dropping every so often..which means, more time for the insects to feed on me !!!
Looking forward to the afterparty on August 15, 2009 !
