Just wanted to share something that made me feel even more special than I already am
I’ve been in touch recently with a future bride regarding my availability and it took a few tries before we nailed a date. I gave her my available dates to work with and she was looking at venues to see if any of those dates were open. While I was in London, I received a voicemail from her telling me that she booked a venue on June 20, 2009. I got the message when I was back at the hotel and jumped on email to break the news that I was already booked.
My phone starts ringing around midnight and I was thinking who would call me this late ? It was her. She said, “I figured you’re still awake since you replied to my email so I need to know which dates you have left!” After double checking my dates, she called me the next day with great news that she changed the date so she could have me for the wedding. Then she says, “Wait, my mom wants to talk to you !” I didn’t know what to expect but the conversation went something like this, “Joee, we changed the wedding date so we can have you photograph my daughter’s wedding….there’s nobody else we want for the wedding than you. You’re very special and we know we’re going to get beautiful photos from you…” Gotta love those M.O.B.’s (mother of the bride).
So, you can put me down as unavailable on July 18th, 2009 because I have a real special wedding to document that day: The Wedding of Lily + Chris.
