Wow, I can’t believe Janet and Tony are finally married. I’ve waited 2 years for this day to come. (They have waited about 7 years for this day to come
) We lucked out with the most amazing weather on Friday. Just a beautiful day. Top-down worthy![]()
I had a really interesting day. It didn’t start off the greatest. I picked Francis up in the morning and proceeded to head down to the Hyatt Regency, where the girls were getting ready. We were there a bit earlier, as usual, so I headed to the washroom to pop in my contacts. After I popped in my left contact, I felt it moving around a little. Then all of a sudden, the contact folded and it was lost somewhere under my eyelid. After 30 mins of rubbing and scratching my eyeball, I finally located it. Boy, that was painful. Let’s call that Mishap #1.
As I walked into the hotel room, Janet came and gave me a big hug. As we hugged, I was checking out the the big mess in the hotel room haha. Being an avid reader of my blog, Janet apologized for not having the room nice and tidy. Because she knows I love nice and clean rooms for photos. So cute. But it wasn’t that bad at all. I’ve seen worse in rooms 10x smaller.
I saw some familiar faces in the room in Vanessa, Ming and Crystal. Vanessa took care of the make-up and Ming and Crystal took care of the hair. It was the first time Vanessa and Ming met. As some of you know, they are two of the amazing individuals giving their talents to Holly and Matt on their wedding day.
As the girls had their hair, I had a chance to take some quick photos of some details. Janet wore a beautiful wedding dress by Maggie Sottero and a real sexy pair of Prada shoes. Loved them ! Her wedding dress must have weighed more than her, I swear !

I love this moment between Janet and Tony. These two are inseparable and it’s not too often that they are not with each other. I know she really missed him the night before and was sooo excited to see him again.

The girls at the hotel were running a little late, and with the Friday afternoon traffic, we decided to stay close by for some relaxed portraits.

The next 3 images were quite memorable. You see, as I was trying to photograph these two, a swarm of pigeons decided to do a fly by. And out of nowhere, I got smacked right in the back of my head by one !!! No joke ! Sheesh, you’d think they could see me, eh ? There was so much force that it gave me a headache for the rest of the day. Anyways, this set of images will forever remind me of the dangers of being a wedding photographer. The look on Janet’s face is priceless ! That was Mishap #2.

I took a different route than the limo driver on the way to the La Primavera so I could grab some food for the wedding party. I didn’t think many of them ate in the morning, so I grabbed some Wendy’s for some of the guys and girls. They just inhaled it when they got to the hall. I know how cranky some people get when they are hungry…myself included.
Before the ceremony, one of Janet’s sisters frantically asked me to come up to the bridal suite…Janet needed help with her veil. Here’s a photo of me putting on the veil for her. My brides get more than just a photographer lol Thanks to Kevin for taking this photo.

Before I left, I surprised everyone with a Same Day Edit (SDE) of highlights from the day. My colleagues out there can vouch how labour intensive it is to pull thse SDEs off. I couldn’t have done it without the help of Kevin and Francis covering some of the evening. But a huge thanks goes out to Gabriel and Simon from Superstars DJ Entertainment for collaborating with me in getting the slideshow out. These two are awesome to work with and I highly recommend them. They really know how to work the crowd and get everyone on the dance floor. It was probably the first time, in a long time, that I saw a full dance floor at an Asian wedding LOL
Oh…and while I set up the slideshow, my camera falls off the table and crashes onto the floor ! Thank God for insurance. Mishap #3. If it wasn’t for all the good times at the wedding, I would have called it a day…

Congratulations again to my awesome friends…Janet and Tony. Those 12+ hours I was there with you was just amazing and everything I thought it would be ! Your friends and family are just amazing and the wedding party was the best ! A part of me is sad that it’s all over…but it really is just the beginning. I know there will be more opportunities to photograph you again….hopefully very soon, if you catch my drift
Thank you for giving me the distinct privilege to document your most special day. I can’t wait to see you two again !
