08.26.2009 + 08.29.2009 | Linda + Raja’s Wedding

Congratulations to Linda and Raja on their beautiful, beautiful fusion wedding a few weeks back.  I absolutely love these two.

I had a blast with them on their engagement session a few weeks before Part 1 of their wedding festivities.  These two are such jokers.  Surprisingly, they didn’t really smile much when they get together for photos..but that was ok because all I do is crack jokes anyways, so that fixed that.  It didn’t take long for us to get into the groove of things.  These two are naturals and look amazing together.

After our session, we talked about how I would have spent more hours with them planning their wedding, than actually covering their wedding day (s).  It was true though.  Every time we saw each other, we’d talk for hours…add the numerous emails back and forth, we had ourselves quite a fantastic relationship.

Linda and Raja knew upon booking that I would not be able to cover their Saturday events as I already had another booking that day.  But I promised to have one of the best around for them.  And I did.  She’s super talented and it was awesome to work with the Godmother of young Asian photographers, Claudia Hung.  It was the first time we collaborated for a wedding…and I can guarantee it’s not going to be the last…more on that at a later time hehe

The first half of their coverage was the Hindu ceremony on the Wednesday.  I was with Linda and the girls at the Intercontinental Hotel and Claudia was with Raja and his family at another hotel.  Both the bride and groom had ceremonies performed inside the hotels, which including lighting candles and incense.  Let me tell you, my heart was racing just waiting for the fire alarm to go off and have the sprinklers rain down on us.  Luckily we got out before burning down the hotel.

We headed off to the BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir complex.  The ceremony didn’t take place inside the famous marble Mandir, but rather in the main complex beside it.  Raja arrived soon after we got there and the ceremony began.

While Eugene and I were photographing Gillian and Graeme’s wedding on Saturday, Claudia led the team, which consisted of Kevin and Francis.  I quickly glanced over their images and they rocked it !  What a beautiful wedding !  Their day was under the care of the lovely, beautiful, and very pregnant Leena of Let’s Party Consultants.  She’s no stranger to my blog, as most of you know.  I think she’s probably helped execute half my weddings this year:)I love her…my couples love her…everyone love’s her !

Claudia and the team headed over to the King Edward Hotel where Linda and Raja were getting ready..in the SAME room ! That’s a first.  They looked so HOTT !!!  We had amazing weather on Saturday, so they all took a stroll to a location nearby for some fun, relaxed portraits.  Here are some of the beautiful images Claudia, Kevin and Francis photographed that day.

The day started off with the Tea Ceremony.  Don’t they look awesome ?!

The reception took place on Saturday at the Markham Event Centre, one of the premier event centers in the city.  Christina and Ben, who run the show over there, have been friends of mine for quite some time now and I had the honor to photograph their inaugural event there – L+K’s wedding reception.  Service and food is key.  These two really know how to execute.  Definitely check them out !

One of my food friends, Sylvia, took care of the flowers and decor.  The venue looked absolutely stunning.

After I was finished covering Gillian and Graeme’s wedding, I headed home and stopped by to say HI to everyone at M.E.C., since it was on my way home.  Man, what a party they were having there. Everyone was having a blast !  Some were having too good of a time, if you know what I mean.  It was nice to see everyone again, even if it was only for a few minutes.  Just being in their presence, I could feel the love they shared that day.  Here’s a photo of us at the end of the night.  We’re missing Claudia, though:(
