I just got home from my uncles place, where my grandmother was living, and in my hand are seven black and white prints that my grandmother has stored in a brown envelope for ages ! Some of these images haven’t even been seen by any of my aunts and uncles, or my mom ! Here is a scanned image of my mom’s immediate family.
WOW ! I am just amazed at how well of condition these photos are. Some of them are as old as 60+ years old ! Amazing ! Over the next few weeks, I will be having these retouched and printed for all my family members to take with them and share it with the rest of my family in Asia. My mom came over with some of her old photos too and I’ll be busy scanning those albums in preparation for my grandmother’s upcoming funeral. I can’t even explain the feeling I get when I hold these prints in my hand. Nothing beats touching an actual photo.
Having said that, it brings us to the topic of prints vs. digital files. I will discuss this in an upcoming post along with my new wedding commissions for future 2011-2012 bookings, which will kick in in a few weeks.
