Last Sunday was Brandon’s Baptism which is a Christian sacrament signifying spiritual cleansing and rebirth. It was held at our new parish up here in Markham and celebrated with all our close family and friends.
Being Catholic, it was a really important day for us and also in Brandon’s life. Of course we wanted it documented. So, I asked one of my mentee’s for 2009, Kevin Fung, to see if he would want to photograph Brandon’s baptism. Part of my mentoring program consists of assignments to complete and this was probably the biggest assignment any of my previous mentee’s have had to complete. Talk about pressure ! Not only was it an extremely important day for a child…but it was MY child
But Kevin really stepped up and got some great shots of the day. I remember asking him if he was sweating yet…and he said, “A little…” He did a great job and so did his girlfriend, Lucy, who tagged along for some shooting and moral support !
I love the image above. I can just imagine Brandon saying, “God ? Is that you ?” hehe
This assignment was a make or break for Kevin. His friendship and participation in the JW Mentorship was at stake haha. Needless to say, we’re still friends…and he’s still going to be mentoring under me. Thanks Kevin (and Lucy) for coming out to celebrate with us !!! We are very grateful to have these images.
