Today, my eldest son, Ethan, turns 2 !!!!!

Wow, I can’t believe it ! 2 years ago, I became a dad ! As scary as it was knowing that I have someone who was completely dependent on me (and Jeanette), it truly was one of the defining moments in my life. I was born to be a dad. I’ve always loved children and welcomed all the crazy responsibilities that came with being a parent. And when Ethan was born, I realized that the next stage of my life has begun.
Ethan has grown so much over the last 2 years. And most recently he has been blowing our socks off by showing us something new each day. He knows all his colors, all his shapes, all his fruits and veggies, can sing the entire alphabet in about 30 seconds, count to 20 in English, count to 10 in Cantonese, sing all of Baa Baa Black Sheep and Twinkle Twinkle Little Star — to name a few of his amazing accomplishments. I don’t know what the ‘norm’ is, but mommy and daddy sure are proud of him !
It’s just been amazing being able to stay at home with him to feed him, read to him, play with him – grow with him. Let’s just say that we’ve both grown up so much in the last 2 years
. While Jeanette went back to work after her mat leave was over, I got to spend so much time with him. How single mothers do it, I have no idea, but being Mr. Mom was one of the most challenging things I have gone through. But those moments together were absolutely priceless. Words cannot describe the incredibly strong bond that we have. I would do anything for him.
Anyways, I’m starting to get a little emotional lol…so let’s get on to some pictures !
This past Sunday we invited some of his friends and family to Ethan’s party at Lil Explorers. This place is great for parties and even playdates. I highly recommend this place. But if you’re having a party, go with the 3 hour booking slot because our 2 hours was way to short ! The kids just did not want to leave !
It was a lot of fun. Ethan enjoyed himself and it was great to gather the families together. But it was really for the kids. It’s always a good idea to trash someone else’s place, than your own. That’s exactly what we thought when we expected about 20 kids running around…
Here are some pics:
