So far so good ! Still at the hospital right now and hoping to get out in a few days. A lot of you have asked for more photos and some descriptions of how the day went, so here’s a little post on our last 24 hours…
Brandon was delivered by, handsdown, the best OB in the city: Dr. Paul Bernstein of Mount Sinai Hospital. He is the most caring, funny and patient OB that I know and if he will take on new patients, the ladies should definitely go with him.

This photo is for my parents. If I was smart enough to be a doctor, this is what I’d look like !

Actually, it’s a photo of us and our Anesthesiologist, Dr. Nair. He’s a real cool guy and was into photography, so we talked shop and I gave him some pointers. The best part was that I actually had photos of me in the operating room because he actually knew how to use my camera ! I’m very thankful for that.

We also ran into Ethan’s delivery nurse, Cathy. She was the best in dealing with Ethan’s situation last year when he was born. When we were admitted, she turned to us and said, “Hey, you guys look familiar…” and then she noticed my camera, “…YES ! You’re the photographer who had the emergency c-section last year !” I was surprised she remembered, but it was my camera hanging off my shoulder that triggered her memory. She said, “Since you left last year, I haven’t seen anyone here with as big of a camera as yours.” I thought that was pretty funny. I truly believe she was instrumental in getting Ethan in the OR for an emergency c-section and having him arrive safely into the world. She is just wonderful and we are happy to see her again.

I’m not really doing any work though…just surfing and blogging during feeds.
The overnight was pretty good. Brandon slept quite a bit so it wasn’t too rough. Tonight is the ‘marathon’ night, as they say. Cluster feeding is happening, so Jeanette is going to feed every few hours at least.
My parents brought Ethan down so he saw his little brother for the first time. It was cute. He gave his little brother kisses and hugs…and then went on about his business opening doors and pushing buttons he shouldn’t be pushing !

I don’t remember Ethan being this huge. I mean, when we left the house yesterday, he was our little boy. But today, he looked like he aged another 6 mths ! He’s a tank compared to Brandon !
Our first (of many !) family portrait:

So, things are going pretty smooth at the moment and we want to thank you all for your well wishes. Hopefully we will be out soon…
